For those of you planning to head off to college in the fall, there is an event coming up that offers four $500 scholarships—and you're entered just by attending the event! It's called College Goal Sunday and it's being held next Sunday, February 8th from 2-4 p.m. 

In addition to the chance to win a $500 scholarship just for attending, you will also receive free assistance completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). 

What to bring? Your parents, if available—but plan to attend even if they cannot. Your 2008 tax returns (if they're ready). Your 2008 W-2 forms. Your student and parent PINs. Apply for your PINs at www.pin.ed.gov. If you haven't done your 2008 taxes, you will need to bring the last pay stub received in Dec. 2008 by you and your parents, showing year-to-date earnings, your 2007 tax forms and 2008 statements of interest earned.

In Lawrence, the event is being held at the University of Kansas, Eaton Hall, Room 1005, Computer Commons, 1520 W. 15th Street.

Had it been, I would have failed before the year was even a few days underway! Hope the holidays were wonderful for you all. I've been working like crazy to get caught up from the holidays and just this week feel that the office is, once again, back to a normal breathing pace. Yeah! Our Fingers & Toes Baby Program has grown considerably in the past few months and we've done sessions with many, many little ones this year already! Which is great, one because we love working with little kids and two, because the Baby & Child Portrait Contest is back and in full swing. More details about that later.
