The very first class of high school seniors that I worked with turns 30 this year. Thirty! I really have trouble wrapping my brain around that one. Especially since I'm only 30 myself. Ha! Perhaps even more amazing is the fact that I am still in contact with almost ALL of them from that first year. And a huge chunk of the teens (now not teens) from all the years that follow as well. As a predominantly child and high school senior photographer, I have loved getting to watch as all of my clients have grown and changed these past 12 years. It's one of the absolute best parts of my job.
This family's youngest is a senior this year and I had the privilege of photographing all four of the siblings senior portraits—plus we shot a sibling session each time as well. In the past year I have shot the youngest child who was third or fourth born of more than NINE families—and that's only counting the families with three and four children! I have worked with countless families with just one or two children (or more than four) as well. But getting these "babies" of the family has been pretty bittersweet. One of the things I pride my business on is the relationships we build with our clients. Many come back again and again. And many more become friends. So when we get to the last child (and it's amazing how quickly seven, eight or nine years go by), the mom and I often are at a loss for where to go next.
I've even had moms joke about having another child just to get to do senior pictures with me again. Too funny! And how very flattering.
So to all the families who have chosen The Crystal Image over the years, thank you. We appreciate you more than you could ever know.
As a tribute to all the families who have graced our door, here are the Johnson kids throughout the years. Love you guys!
